Andy Sturgeon Design is a creative landscape architecture and garden design studio, passionate about crafting beautiful, sustainable spaces that connect people to nature, architecture, and each other. With over 1,000 projects completed in the UK and internationally, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Landscape Architect to lead and shape high-end projects, including luxury private estates, premium commercial developments, public realm initiatives, and world-class resorts.

Role Overview

Job Type: Permanent

You will be responsible for leading design development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering landmark landscape projects from concept to completion. You will bring exceptional design flair, technical expertise, and strategic project management skills to ensure innovative and functional designs meet client expectations. This role includes mentoring junior staff, ensuring high-quality output, and managing budgets and timelines effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead landscape design projects, balancing creativity with practicality across all RIBA Stages.
• Develop concept designs, presentations, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Manage project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive project success.
• Conduct site visits and oversee project implementation.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety (CDM) and relevant industry regulations.
• Contribute to business development, bid preparations, and client relationship management.
• Provide mentorship and leadership within the design team, fostering innovation and excellence.

Skills & Experience

• Chartered Landscape Architect (or equivalent qualification/experience).
• Strong conceptual and technical design abilities with a focus on high-quality, creative solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and visual.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office (SketchUp, NBS, Enscape, and Revit desirable).
• Experience in luxury resort or high-end residential landscape design is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, meeting deadlines and client expectations.

Location

Our main office is located in central Brighton. We’re also in the process of opening a satellite office in London. While we recognize the benefits of remote work, this position requires a majority of in-person attendance at either office to provide the necessary support and guidance.
