Garden Designer

Wild to Wonderful is a friendly, family-run garden design and landscaping company with 21 years of experience, providing comprehensive garden project services in residential gardens.

We are passionate about what we do and are looking for an assistant designer to join our team who shares our environmentally-friendly ethos.  Working alongside our Design Director, it is a great opportunity to grow your design skills and experience in a friendly and supportive environment, producing beautiful gardens for our customers.  You will be assisting in the design and development of garden projects from concept to completion and will see your designs come to life as they are built by our inhouse landscapers.

Role/responsibilities

  • Attending initial design consultancies & surveys, creating build quotations and briefs
  • Producing designs & mood boards for customers and landscaping teams
  • Specifying plants and materials, organising deliveries, setting out
  • Assisting on our stand at local shows

Skills required

  • Diploma / Degree in Garden Design
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and good listening skills
  • Creativity, vision and adapting ideas to suit customer briefs, budget and site constraints
  • Knowledge of plants and the ability to produce planting schemes
  • An interest in horticulture, wildlife and understanding people
  • Flexible & personable, able to work as a team or independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes
  • Experience in CAD beneficial but not essential
  • Design experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Proactive and motivated with a positive professional attitude and appearance
  • Excellent communication, organisation and management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and own transport.

There will be opportunities to grow within the role as time and experience progress.

This is a full-time permanent position in our rural office and on-site in the Didcot area working Monday to Friday with occasional optional exhibition work at weekends. Benefits include 28 paid holidays per calendar year and employee contribution pension scheme
