About the Role
Based at our University Centre at the Eden Project, Cornwall College is seeking to appoint an individual with a proven track record and experience in the design, construction and management of landscape and garden design projects, to manage and teach on our HNC/HND and Honours Degree programmes.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class partnership with the Eden Project and to inspire the next generation of garden and landscape designers. The role will involve working on both simulated and live projects with students and building and maintaining strong connections with the industry.
As a Higher Education Programme Manager you will be responsible for recruitment and interviewing of students, planning and delivering an aspirational programme of learning, assessing and marking student work, providing tutorial support and assisting with securing work experience placements. You will also be central to the activities of the University Centre in promoting a fantastic student experience and to market the programmes.
Skills & Experience
You will hold a minimum of a relevant undergraduate degree and preferably also a postgraduate qualification. Recent, relevant professional experience working on projects of differing scales is essential, as is proficiency in design communication using both traditional and digital media (e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop). Registered Membership of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers would also be highly beneficial.
A teaching qualification with teaching experience is desirable and the successful candidate must be willing to undertake a teaching qualification and participate in other staff development activities throughout the year.
You will need to be committed, highly organised and an effective communicator with excellent team working and people skills and a strong motivation to promote our College Values. You will also need to be competent with a variety of IT-based resources to support delivery and learning.
Hours of work
The role is part time 30 hours per week over 52 weeks (occasional weekend or evening work may also be required)
