Assistant Landscape Designer

HollandGreen is seeking an Assistant Landscape Designer to join our friendly, design-led team in Thame, Oxfordshire.

You’ll support our Senior Designers across all project stages – from concept to completion – collaborating with clients, contractors, suppliers, and the wider design team. The role involves creative input, technical detailing, and visualisation, working both independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Support Senior Designers and Directors throughout all design stages, from concept to completion.
  • Understand client objectives, requirements, and budgets.
  • Assist with project operations, including procurement, finances, and documentation.
  • Produce clear visualisations and presentation materials.
  • Prepare tender and construction drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Manage your workload effectively and maintain organised project records.
  • Engage in internal initiatives to support team development.
  • Aim to progress towards Project Lead level through continuous learning.

Formal Qualifications 

  • Degree or Diploma in Landscape Architecture, Garden Design, or equivalent.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Vectorworks; Twinmotion experience advantageous (training provided).
  • Strong design ability from sketching to CAD detailing.
  • Good horticultural knowledge.
  • Experienced in Microsoft and Adobe software.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and detail-focused with a proactive attitude.
  • Open to feedback, adaptable, and eager to develop professionally.

Experience

  • Ideally two years’ UK experience delivering high-end landscape projects.
  • Proficient in developing masterplans, visualisations, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with the planning process.

Other Requirements

  • UK Driving Licence
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
