Kit Peel Gardens is a boutique landscape and garden design studio led by husband-and-wife partnership Megan and Kit Peel MSGLD. The studio creates elegant, immersive gardens that balance strong spatial structure with romantic, naturalistic planting. Our approach to projects is highly considered, rooted in contemporary and historic garden making. Good team-working, pragmatism and thorough preparation is at the heart of the studio’s success. Projects range from Para 84 schemes and historic estates, to town and country gardens.

With the opening of a new Hampshire studio, we are seeking a freelance Planting Designer to work closely with us on typically complex, high-end projects. This role will entail working with the principals on planting schemes, delivering precise planting drawings, schedules and maintenance packs, sourcing plants and planting out as required.

Requirements

• A design sensibility aligned with the studio’s aesthetic
• A deep knowledge and love of planting design
• Existing relationships with both large and specialist plant suppliers is ideal
• A strong communicator with a calm, professional approach
• Excellent time management, organisation and team-working
• Experienced in relevant design software, including Vectorworks
• Ability to produce clear, accurate planting plans and schedules
• Good drawing skills
• Ideally has own vehicle

Location
Applicants will ideally be based within reasonable travelling distance of East Meon, as the role involves regular in-person studio and site collaboration.

• This is a freelance, project-based role with potential for ongoing work. Salary: Competitive.
