Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Landscape Designer/Architect with a minimum of 5 years experience to lead on design and delivery of projects. You will be responsible for creating distinctive landscapes, collaborating with clients, consultants, and teams, and mentoring junior designers. Your role will involve overseeing projects from concept to completion, ensuring they meet design standards, budgets, and timelines. A passion for sustainability and design excellence is essential.
Skills:
- Exceptional conceptual and technical design abilities.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, visual).
- Critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Extensive plant and materials knowledge.
- Ability to travel (valid UK driving licence and car required).
- Proficient in Vectorworks Landmark (essential) Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Google Workspace (Macs environment)
Responsibilities:
Project Involvement & Design:
- Lead the development of landscape designs from concept to completion.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documents for planning and construction.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Manage relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Project Management:
- Organise project information and ensure adherence to budgets and timelines.
- Monitor resources, review design outputs, and quality-check materials.
- Improve internal systems for project delivery and client service.
Professional Development:
- Participate in training and career development.
- Foster a creative and innovative team environment.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to new design ideas and trends.
Leadership:
- Encourage innovation and creativity within the studio.
- Mentor and support team members, ensuring high-quality project delivery.
- Assist the Principal in managing the Landscape Team to align with studio goals.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Promote sustainable design practices.
- Cultivate strong client and consultant relationships.
