Freelance Garden Designer / Landscape Architect

Yoko Kloeden Design is a London-based architecture and interior design studio creating restorative homes rooted in Japanese design philosophy. Our work integrates architecture, interiors and gardens under one cohesive vision.

We are expanding our garden design offering and seeking an experienced Freelance Garden Designer / Landscape Architect to collaborate on high-end residential projects in London.

This role offers something rare: creative freedom and autonomy within a boutique, integrated design studio. You will not be brought in to “finish” a project once architecture is complete. Instead, you will contribute from early concept stages, shaping outdoor spaces as an essential part of the overall design narrative. Gardens are conceived as living extensions of the home — not afterthoughts.

You will lead garden projects from concept to completion, producing masterplans, 2D and 3D designs, planting schemes, construction drawings and schedules. You will prepare tender packages, advise on contracts and oversee works through to handover, working closely with our architectural and interior team to ensure seamless indoor–outdoor flow.

Requirements:
• Minimum 7 years’ experience delivering garden/landscape projects in Greater London
• Relevant professional qualification in Landscape Architecture
• Strong knowledge of UK planning regulations and statutory approvals
• Excellent horticultural and construction detailing knowledge
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Confidence managing projects independently within a small team

This is initially a project-based freelance collaboration, with potential to grow into a longer-term role.
