Through practical, real-time demonstrations, participants will learn how to use these tools to streamline their design processes and expand their creative and expressive capabilities. The course will also briefly cover the application of AI in garden design graphics.
What will be taught on this course?
During this course, you will learn about the functionalities of Procreate, Morpholio Trace, and SketchUp for iPad and about how to create fluid, frictionless workflows using these platforms. You will gain skills in photomontage, photo editing, freehand sketching, and watercolouring with Procreate.
We will explore the architectural drawing capabilities of Morpholio Trace and you will gain insight into the 3D CAD design potential of SketchUp for iPad, along with its precision technical drawing capabilities and near photorealistic visualisation functionality.
We will also examine how to incorporate AI tools into garden design graphics, with a brief foray into Midjourney and Stable Diffusion AI.

- Photo Editing and Montage. Techniques for photomontage and photo editing.
- Freehand Sketching and Watercolouring: Creating sketches and watercolours indistinguishable from traditional methods.
- Technical Drawing: Freehand isometric sketching, architectural, and graphic styles.
- Planting Plans: Utilising Procreate for detailed planting plans.
Morpholio Trace
- Introduction to Morpholio Trace: Overview and comparison with the traditional drawing board.
- Working to Scale: Drawing to scale and tracing over topographic surveys.
- Satellite Imagery: Producing scaled concept drawings and outline surveys from integrated scaled satellite photography.
- Drawing techniques in Morpholio, both technical and freehand.
SketchUp for iPad
