Photography Workshop at Middlethorpe Hall
A relaxed, practical morning covering the fundamentals of getting the best from a smartphone camera and applying it to photographing garden spaces.
9:00am – Arrival & welcome coffee/tea
9:30am – Understanding your smartphone camera
• Introduction to essential camera functions (exposure, focus, colour balance)
• Tips for photographing using natural light
• Composition techniques such as rule of thirds, leading lines and framing
10:45am – Hands-on practice (in the gardens, weather permitting)
• Guided tuition using smartphones to photograph garden details and planting
• Tips for capturing a range of different compositions of one garden
12:00pm – Image review & simple editing
• Group review with constructive feedback
• Quick editing techniques to enhance smartphone photos
• Q&A and tips for continued improvement
12:30pm – Two course lunch in the dining room at Middlethorpe Hall
13.30/14.00 – tour of the gardens with the gardening team
Afternoon is then free to wander round the grounds and practice techniques from the morning.
Ticket price - £90.00 including 2 course lunch, water, tea and coffee.
