Date and Time: Monday 06 July 2026 from 14:00 - 17:00
Course Information:
I will explain my approach to roof terraces and what lessons I have learned over the years, through 3 very different projects.
Roof terraces are more complex than traditional gardens as several fundamentals (or ‘basic necessities’) must be addressed before starting to think about any plants or even the basic design.
How to source skilled specialists, schedule their various interventions, find the right material and plants, and how to sell this costly exercise to the client will also be covered.
Some projects are more complex than others and roof terraces can require several levels of expertise, from structural engineering to lifting and lightweight materials.
We have designed and built 8 roof terraces so far, from a small 8.5m2 space in which we squeezed a bar, living wall, 2 sitting areas and 1 dining area in lush planting, to a 110m2 terrace on 7th floor, with no lift or crane access – which won 3 awards.
There will be time for a Q&A session at the end of the course.
Please note that this event will be recorded and will be made available to delegates after the event.
