10.30am – 2.30pm. There will be a break at 12.30pm with refreshments provided. This is completely free of charge for any SGLD members who can attend.

- Lighting Effects - including uplighting, downlighting, grazing, shadowing, silhouetting and moonlighting - illustrated using practical demonstrations.
- 12volts v 240volts – why do we have different voltages? A few tips to make it easier.
- Tree Lighting - How to light open canopy trees, dense canopy trees, pleached trees, multi-stemmed trees and which type of lights to use.
- Tea and Coffee.
- Step Lighting – Different lighting techniques, with an emphasis on safety.
- Light Pollution – A brief discussion. Causes, effects and mitigation.
- Path Lighting – Some methods for lighting paths and patios.
- A Break for Refreshments – Around 12.30pm.
- Lighting Shrub Borders – Techniques plus a few suggestions.
- Focus and Floodlighting – How to take your garden lighting to the next level with a mixture of accent lighting for highlighting features and soft, ambient lighting.
- Lighting Design – We will look at a case study with opportunity for discussion.
