Designing plant ecosystems
This talk will delve into the topic of plant polycultures and guilds. We can design plant communities to support the ecosystem of the whole design by meeting the needs of the plants. We can add in fertility plants and living mulches in the form of ground cover plants.
I will start by defining a polyculture and a guild. I will talk about the different roles plants can play in an ecosystem and how we can use those properties to design a thriving community of plants regardless of whether the purpose of the planting is to be edible, medicinal or solely ornamental
