Gonzalo Morillo Holguin MSGLD
Gonzalo Morillo is a forestry engineer whose approach to garden & landscape design is rooted in ecology and shaped by a rich tapestry of international experience, including time at the renowned studio of Fernando Caruncho.
Based in Madrid, his practice Locus Landscape is guided by a distinctive design philosophy that draws on nature's principles, translated into human spaces through thoughtful, intentional design.
Gonzalo approaches the landscape as a living, interconnected system — one that requires an understanding of how ecosystems function. For him, garden design is an art form: a way to express nature’s intangible qualities within environments shaped by human hands. His goal is to create places where natural processes and architectural form coexist in harmony, sustained over time through care, vision, and attention.
He has led projects in France, New Zealand, Greece, England, and Morocco. While Gonzalo sets the creative direction, Locus Landscape is collaborative at its core, shaped by a talented team who bring each garden to life.
The studio specialises in all phases of garden creation: from layout and civil works to planting design and decorative detailing. It operates throughout Spain and takes on select international commissions in countries such as the UK, Paraguay and Italy
