Doug Holloway MSGLD

Doug Holloway is a Chartered Landscape Architect and registered member of the Society of Garden and Landscape Designers. He began his career over 20 years ago as a craftsman, designing and creating his own landscapes. He brings this craftsman’s understanding to his design work to this day and continues to enjoy being involved in creating the landscapes he designs.

“I try to create landscapes that feel timeless, that belong, and that continue to develop depth and meaning as time passes. My design process is intuitive, balancing three things: the people a landscape is created for, a sense of the place and its history, and a clear concept for the space. If these are brought together with sensitivity, I believe the result is a landscape with a clear identity and its own sense of place.

Much of my love of garden design came from a desire simply to be outdoors: to work with living and natural materials, light and shade, shape, form and composition.”
