At Marian Boswall Landscape Architects we focus on regenerative design combining a mixture of rewilding and conservation with creating beautiful and practical places for people to enjoy. We work with large trusts and estates open to the public, private landowners and smaller garden owners who share our ethos.

We combine a deep respect for the natural world with a hands-on, practical approach to achieving results. We are highly experienced at working with listed buildings, protected landscapes and sensitive locations. We seek to forge a continuum between the past, the present, and the future.

Our designs focus on biodiversity and habitats, are informed by the naturally occurring plant families and conditions of the local area. and are grounded in the craftsmanship and respect for the land.

Using natural materials and careful detailing, we work hard at listening in order to project each client and each site’s unique personality into our designs.

Marian is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and the Society of Garden Designers and regularly writes and speaks about regenerative design and kindness. Her book Sustainable Garden was shortlisted for Garden Book of the Year and The Kindest Garden is published by Frances Lincoln in April 2025.
