James’ plan is to create gardens that catch the breath, make the knees shake and the loins quiver. Every garden should be a mixture of the disciplined and the devoutly anarchic. Plantings should be allowed to run wild, cascade across paths and bustle up against their neighbours. Hard surfaces should be crisply designed, supremely functional and immaculately constructed. But most importantly of all - every garden should be crafted to suit the place, the house and the people it serves.
