Founded in 1991 by Managing Director and Principal Designer James Scott, FSGD MBALI, The Garden Company has built a stellar reputation over three decades. James was recently recognized by Pro Landscaper as one of the 25 Most Influential People in landscaping today. Our accolades include an SGD Design Award (2019), a BALI Special Award for Best Design-and-Build Project in 2022, and a Homes and Gardens Design Award for Best Small Garden in 2023.

We are deeply committed to creating sustainable gardens and landscapes that celebrate nature. The Garden Company was proud to be one of the first companies to gain Registered Practice status in 2017 when this category was first launched, aligning the SGD with other professional bodies such as RIBA.
Category - Small Residential Garden. Judges' conclusion: 'Overall, the design is clever and accomplished'.
In 2022, we won a Special BALI Award for Best Design-and-Build Project.
In 2023, we won two Awards for a residential project in Hertfordshire (one logo shown); the Awards were for Design Excellence and Domestic Construction.
In 2023, we won the national Homes and Gardens Award for Best Small Garden.
In 2024, we won the Pro Landscaper Business Award in the Garden Design Company category. This National Award scheme assesses a range of factors including financial stability, client satisfaction, training, supplier relationships and CSR.
