We push you to the extremes of steam heat, cold water immersion and the raw pleasure of feeling rain on your skin as you replenish outside your sauna.
Hand axed in Sweden our sauna lodges are authentic, traditionally basic but beautifully detailed. They weather and naturally improve with age as if they have been there forever.
Sitting alongside the sauna, landscaped into the earth and naturally planted is Shokk&Awe’s naturally filtered plunge pool. Hand crafted in stainless steel the water shines a bright blue in the landscape.
We partner with you all the way - planning, visualisation, design and build. Each commission is bespoke using Shokk&Awe’s design and material palette, elements can be mixed to suit your landscaped scheme and local venacular - country wilderness or urban formality.
Our design projects are developed and managed in Swaledale, North Yorkshire and our workshop is in the deep forests in the southern Swedish highlands, amid the material we love. Our team in Sweden have a fully equipped workshop, timber yard and sawmill. They supports Svensk kolinlagring and Plockhugget. Our craftsmen have a foundation in timber framing, boat building and Scandinavian log house tradition.
