About Anna

Anna is a planting and sketching teacher, a planting designer and planting advisor adviser and previous head gardener at Long Barn. She also works as a 'roving head gardener' on garden restoration projects.

Course Overview

Having reliably moist soil in a garden opens up fantastic opportunities for some lovely, lush planting. Pond and stream side planting adds perching points for dragonflies, places to hide for wildlife and adds to the cool, calm atmosphere of water. Bog gardens make great wildlife habitats and can make a real statemnet with big leaves and architectural plants. We will discuss a range of plants that can cope with being damp (but not permanently waterlogged) from sun to shade and cool streamsides. There will be time for questions.
