An afternoon at Practical Plants, including a talk and tour.

Date: Monday 29th September
Time: 2pm - 4.30pm
Location: Rickinghall Road, Hinderclay, Suffolk, IP22 1HN
Presented by Phil Rusted
With 10 years experience in an ever-changing market, come along to hear from their founder and MD Phil Rusted about how the market has changed over the past 10 years - and what the future of plant sourcing holds in store for both them and you as a designer.
Phil has been sourcing plants for the industry for 30 years - and he will talk about recent changes in customs procedures and paperwork, transport & logistics and what is expected of both a nursery and a supplier.
The talk will also touch on an overview of the UK nursery industry and a view of the European nursery industry - and how he foresees the industry going forward and adapting to times ahead. Biosecurity and the importance of plant passports - and understanding them in more detail will also be covered.
Tours of the site will look at the processes they have in place and the way in which plants arrive to them and how orders are collated from a wide range of suppliers and nurtured before delivery to site.
