Advanced Tools and Techniques in Vectorworks

Vectorworks has new updates throughout the year as well as the annual major iteration. This workshop further advances our understanding of Vectorworks as an all in one design programme by looking at advanced and new techniques.

  • Advanced rendering techniques for bespoke presentation, including sketchy/hand-drawn looks
  • How to create your own plant images and 3D image props
  • Photogrammetry for creating your own 3D object
  • Point Cloud using a LIDAR phone camera to scan objects or gardens and create 3D models from the scans.
  • Saved Viewports
  • Legends
  • New AI capabilities

You will need:

  • A computer/laptop of suitable speed/RAM to work complex programmes (probably make sure other programmes are closed for this workshop)
  • A basic mouse with left and right click and a scroll wheel. N.b. a touch pad on a laptop and a Mac Magic Mouse are not really suitable for CAD.
  • You will be given the opportunity to work along with me during the workshop, and will be given a handbook. Think about how you want to follow - for example, many students have found the best approach is to log in to Zoom with a tablet whilst working on their laptop.
