Step behind the scenes at one of the country’s leading trade nurseries on a special guided visit to How Green Nursery on Tuesday 14 October.
An Accredited Supplier Member and Affiliated Business Partner of the SGLD, How Green supplies many of the UK’s top designers, both for private projects and at major flower shows. As well as growing on all their stock in peat free compost, they also provide a first-class sourcing service for trees, shrubs, hedging, and topiary from trusted UK and European growers making them a convenient one-stop shop for garden designers.
Our morning begins at 10.30am with a tour led by owner Simon Sutcliffe, who will showcase the latest plant introductions and seasonal highlights as we explore the growing beds. We’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at the propagation department, where new plants are carefully raised from seed and cuttings.
Along the way, we’ll hear from Bek Bibby at The Patch, a community interest company offering work-based horticultural training for young people with learning difficulties. Bek will share their inspiring story, the positive impact of their small regenerative farm in Kent, and discuss an exciting new idea for garden designers: a stylish range of annual flowers grown to order.
We’ll also explore How Green’s wider environmental credentials, and discover why they’re leading the way in sustainable horticulture.
To round off the morning, there’s the option to continue the conversation over lunch at The Wheatsheaf pub in Bough Beech, just a short drive from the nursery.
