Oliver Lewis, founder of Joe's Blooms, will give an overview of the small sites metric - the simplified version of the statutory BNG metric designed specifically for smaller developments and can be calculated without the need for external consultants.

Oliver will explain:

  • BNG and Small Sites Metric
  • When this metric applies (and when the full BNG should be applied)
  • How the Joe's Bloom online tool can help you navigate the Small Sites Metric
  • How to incorporate BNG into site design

BNG is now a statutory requirement in England for new development sites* - large and small - and, with proposals for the Scottish Government to adopt it and moves in other countries to adopt a similar system, it's never been a better time to learn about how BNG works.

*there are exceptions, such as self builders and common home owner developments, which Oliver will cover in more detail as to when the legislation applies and when it does not.
