Steve Edney and Louise Dowle, creators of the No Name Nursery in Kent are garden lovers, plant experts, holders of 4 national collections of plants, practitioners of sustainable gardening with a deep respect for the land – and Chelsea gold medal winners.

Within his 30 year career Steve spent 17 years as head gardener at the award winning Salutation gardens in Kent overseeing their restoration: they are now considered amongst the finest gardens in the UK, and particularly beneficial to wildlife.  Louise was assistant head gardener at the Salutation as well as working with many private clients, winning awards for plant breeding and wildlife friendly gardening.

Steve and Louise now run No Name Nursery together.  The nursery is off grid and set on a 3 acre site designed as a plant playground for growing and testing plants, and selling plants they have grown themselves.

Designers will benefit from Louise and Steve’s horticultural experience in making planting schemes more sustainable including the use of bare root plants, great compost mixes, and drought tolerant planting.  Louise and Steve will also share how they care for the land which feeds their nursery.
