In-House Designer (Maternity Cover)

Timeline

This position is a maternity cover with a fixed term of 10 months (mid June 2025 TBC) with the potential transformation into a full-time contract depending on candidate performance and business needs.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Project based work

• Preparing drawings on Vectorworks as well as hand-drawn plans to include masterplans, working drawings and planting plans
• Writing up site notes & manage client communication
• Liaising with contractors on projects
• Liaising with nurseries and suppliers to source plants etc for projects when required
• Work with the project manager to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed plans and costs
• Preparing site packs and attending site visits when required
• Marketing and communications support
• Create content for social media channels
• Maintain and compile images to be used for PR purposes, liaising with journalists and publishers.

Skills, knowledge, and experience required including any necessary qualifications

• Degree in horticulture, garden design or landscape architecture
• Proficiency using Vectorworks, Microsoft Office & Abode Photoshop
• Project management ability
• Strong graphic skills
• Experience of working in a hands-on environment
• An organised and collaborative style, with good communication skills
